Illinois Concealed Carry Course
Mandatory Qualification
30 rounds total: 10 at 5 yards, 10 at 7 yards and 10 at 10 yards. A 70% score is required to pass the live-fire qualification.
Range Training Beyond the Minimum
Students receive additional guided live-fire practice and drills designed to reinforce safe handling, fundamentals, manipulation, accuracy and confidence—not simply the required qualification.

Firearm for qualification; rentals are available
150–200 rounds of factory target ammunition (FMJ), not hollow points

Class-Day Notes
Two-Day Attendance
Full 16-hour students must complete both required days. If necessary, the class may be split across available course dates; no certificate is issued until all required training is completed.
Renewal & Military
Renewal students and qualifying military students with approved DD214 credit attend the applicable second-day training block.
Lunch & Breaks
Bring lunch, snacks and water. There are no convenient lunch options near the range, so plan to bring what you need and return from breaks on time so we can protect your range-training time.

Advance registration and payment are required to reserve a seat.
Payments are non-refundable for no-shows. For cancellations without at least 24 hours notice, a $35 range fee is retained. A no-show may transfer the paid course registration to a later Wright Firearms Training class within one year. Full 16-hour students who need to split the two training days may complete the remaining required day at a compatible later class; no certificate is issued until all required training is completed. If Wright Firearms Training cancels or reschedules a class, affected students will be contacted with available options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a FOID card to take the class?
No. A FOID card is not required simply to attend the training.
Do I need my own firearm?
No. Rental firearms are available. Students renting a firearm should confirm ammunition requirements with Wright Firearms Training.
What ammunition should I bring?
Bring 150–200 rounds of factory target ammunition (FMJ). Do not bring hollow-point ammunition for the class range exercises.
What if I cannot attend both days?
Contact us. The required training may be completed across compatible class dates, but a certificate cannot be issued until all requirements are completed.
Is the live-fire qualification mandatory?
Yes. Students must successfully complete the required live-fire qualification to receive the course completion certificate.
Is there extra range practice?
Yes. The range portion includes additional instructor-led drills and guided practice beyond the qualification requirement whenever class conditions allow.
